The Luke Butler Challange

For those of you who missed it. The following is a post made by the one and only Luke Butler on Oct 9th 2018.

Capture.PNG

Hey All, Luke Butler here coming at you with a spicy challenge.

I’m giving a box of UFS product away to the first person to win a Premier Store Championship playing Eligor. The only rule, no Sandbagging out of Eligor. That’s it! Go out there and get creative!

Well then, we cant let this call go unanswered. So until this challenge is won. I will be posting tips and combos for our boy Eligor until someone can take a win.

034-tn-preview.jpg

The first and most obvious Eligor play, is his signature double Hannya trigger. This combo is done by taking a hit, responding with Hannya, then responding with Eligor to play a weapon reversal readying Hannya and threatening a second trigger if they don’t block the reversal.

This play is strong in the fact that either way, they are at a much higher difficulty to continue their turn. A large part of playing Eligor is dragging out the game so you can get in more of his triggers.

Now then, the Hannya trick can be done on both Order and All, but what about Good? Well there’s a cool trick here as well.

Eligor is one of the very few characters that can Race against Time a reversal with only 2 cards in hand. Meaning you can reversal with say, a Power flip using Eligors effect, and use Race against Time to swap it out for something more threatening. Like a missile launcher. Or you can be a complete troll and run a single copy of petrifying gaze so you can have a base stun 3 you can pull in with your 4 dif reversals. Which can then be made more oppressive with Weapons Upgrade.

I know the tip for the Good symbol is a little more on the troll side, but hopefully these helped inspire you a little. And like I said, I’ll keep posting Eligor tips until someone wins the challenge. So good luck out there.

Shameless Update - Calm before the storm

Hello again,

This update we have an Online Tournament announcement, UK nationals reports, Rule FAQ updates and more. Check it out.

Muscle Mountains UK singles report

So for starters, the link can be found -> HERE <- and I must say, it was a wonderful read. Muscle piloted his Goro deck into tops at the UK nationals and later won teams. As I have stated before, Muscle Mountain has amazing insight into building and playing low hand size characters. And this report does an incredible job of letting you see into his thought process. This is an absolute MUST READ if you plan on playing Goro at any competitive level.

Videos

As the usual. Lots of content from both Rockford UFS and UFSU. This time we get something special with a deck profile from Kevin Brobergs teams deck from UK nationals. An unconventional Ermac deck.

KING OF IRON ONLINE TOURNAMENT

Everyone’s favorite video smithy Paynus Greabler is hosting the first ever online Jasco Legacy tournament. He is personally putting up his own prize support and time to make this happen. All of the juicy details can be found in his super informative video below.

JASCO OFFICIAL

Because our beloved jasco struggles at times to let the masses know of what they’re up to, I’m going to do my best to help.

40021554_10214344984313074_4693950915776872448_n.jpg

For starters, there are some sexy new redemption promos. Well, not really new, but you know what I mean. New template Scorpion 2 and Classic Revoke on the new template as well. Both can be found on the Jasco Redemption Page

Jasco also updated the UFS FAQs PAGE . This update covers interactions with Fade and a new ruling that buffs Mortal Kombat’s Kung Jin. Be sure to make your local group aware of the changes.

Thanks for stopping by and good luck to anyone training up for nationals.

Until next time ,

Site Construction

There will be a few new pages popping up in the next week or so. The fan set from Rockford is getting its own section soon and a resources/rules page will be up soon as well. We will also be looking at adding sections for formats outside of standard.

I am currently in the middle of moving and my house is full of boxes. So be patient while we get content pushed out.

Announcement Day

Hello and welcome!

We started this site so that there could be a centralized home for UFS content and resources. There is a lot being produced by the community that ends up getting lost to social media. To rectify that, this weekly newsletter is designed to keep players up to date with whats being put out on social streams.

Once your done reading this post, you can go check out the rest of the site! Its still under construction, but there's lots of info on here including links to social media hubs, content creators, and even pages to help you play UFS online. Beyond the weekly newsletter, on this feed you can expect semi-regular posts about site updates and community spotlights. We've also got more content in the works including tournament analysis, deck profiles, guest articles, and more.

Check out this weeks update below.

Rockford has been busy this week with a few new VS videos both of which can be found below.

Rockford has also been testing their fan set for UFS, My Hero Academia! Chris gave us a new card from the set to preview  · ASUI ·

The character may still get some changes post testing, so check back to see more updates and previews from the MHA fan set.

UK's own ambassador of low handsize characters, Rio(MuscleMountain)Gopaul has started writing again. His blog can be found HEREIf you are ever thinking about running a 4-5 HS character, check him out. Piles of first hand experience and successes. This week he talks personal thoughts as UK nats looms around the corner.

Previous champ Keenan Meadows also posted a video recently talking about his local experience running ·Scorpion· with great success. Its rare to get local reports like this and even more rare for them to come from champions. Don't miss out on what he has to say.

Personally, most of my time has been spent getting the site put together. I have managed to keep getting practice in doing UFS card alters but unfortunately, the video updates may be little slow for the next bit.

The boys down at UFS University are always putting out solid video content. Their last two study hall videos can be found below.

OK! Last part.

My local playgroup will be heading to Alberta Beatdown this coming weekend to compete in the UFS event there. Currently there are 32 registered players, so check back to hear reports and see lists from that event.

Also coming down the pipe are fresh articles written by previous champ card winners, decklist write ups, interviews and more.

Finally, I want to give a big thank you to Jason at Jasco games for letting us use UFS art around the site. I'll be working with JT to get this site looking a little nicer in the days to come.

Until next time

Week 3. We did it

Wow. So we finally managed to launch the site. Things are still under construction. But at least its out there now. I'm working with a few different people in order to get a steady stream of new content flowing on the site and Jasco Games has given us permission to use their art assets as well.

In other news, I teamed up with Chris over at Rockford UFS on a new video series where we both build decks for the same character/symbol/idea to show variations in deck design. You can check the first ones out below.

Additionally I've been able to get a few more card alters done. One was a commission, and the other is just something I've wanted to do for some time.

I think thats about it for this update. In the next week I'll be looking to polish the site a little and then publicly announce it at the end.

Week 2

Hey, we made it to week 2. I managed to get the site more populated and started looking into more community content to get on here. I may be moving in the next month, so it might slow my progress for a bit >.< Thankfully it means i can set up an actual office.

Other than that, I managed to finish my quick reviews of all the Mortal Kombat characters for UFS! You can check them out here . I've also been playing a lot more destiny 2 pvp at night when I'm stuck with a baby on my lap, so you might see another gameplay video from that.

Anywho. Till next time.

Week 1.... again

I was planning to launch the site right at the start of August, but an emergency in the family pushed me back on that plan. Even now i'll be looking at some late nights to get things set up.

That being said, this section will be a place for me to throw news or current events in our community. For some extra reading for people who are tired of facebook posts and recycled memes. It'll also be where I can post fresh, original memes from our community members.

So check back here for more updates on my going ons.
